A recent report in the online edition of the Nicaraguan daily La Prensa "portrays the problems of the rural community Totogalpa in the northwest of the country. The problem is not just that with the drought almost the entire crop was lost, but no more seeds for the next season is available. The community itself lacks the resources to provide its residents with food. Many fathers go to other regions to work in the coffee harvest. In one example, reports that are generated by every 14 days 200 Cordoba to feed a mother and her four children: these are roughly 6 €, or 3 € per week, 45 cents per day.
